Ever taller, ever bolder, China's economic capital is about to see a breathtaking new skyscraper rise. And for good reason, Turkish-born architect Hayri Atak has come up with a daring high-rise plan: "Ternary Tower". This architectural concept promises embracing, eye-catching towers with stunning views.

With a projected height of 400m2, the three splendidly shaped towers would be the fifth tallest building to rise to the sky in Shanghai. An altitude that would place Ternary Tower behind the Shanghai Tower (632 meters), the World Financial Center (492), the Oriental Pearl (468) and the Jin Mao Tower (420).

However, notwithstanding the lovers of divine architecture, what makes the project designed by the Turkish architect extraordinary is more artistic. These will be spread over 7,500 square meters of land and, according to current plans, will offer a total of 45,000 square meters of space.

Aesthetically, the three slender, sinuous parts resemble overly dense plant stems that grow tightly bound toward the sky. Assembled, the three towers complement each other in perfect harmony and reveal a soft transitional image in the city skyline. The result is a soft, undulating silhouette that gives the giant building an almost light, friendly appearance.

With this playful design, however, Hayri Atak Architectural Design Studio (HAADS) doesn't just want to provide a dramatic eye-catcher. The unusual shape of the "Ternary Tower" is primarily intended to create "a unique user experience." And both for the residents, as well as for neighbors and passers-by. While the skyscraper should offer great views, you'll be able to enjoy the "very striking city-scale skyline" all around.
